I feel very lucky, inspired and animated thanks to my trip to Denmark. 🤩 I would love for you to feel the same. Here is my story for you… I always try to keep in mind that my posts do not become acts of self-glorification (I heard such posts appear on this platform every once in a while 😉). How do you do that? By asking what value you can take away. Or emotions. Or lessons. And cliffhangers! Read to the end to find out about a crazy idea I have in my head now… 🤯 This was my first visit to Denmark. The country has a great “feel”. I enjoyed the friendliness, hospitality, eye-pleasing architecture and the many bike lanes everywhere. Thanks, Denmark. I will be back! I was honored with an invitation to speak at the largest email marketing conference in Europe, at Mette Wills #emailsummit in Odense, Denmark. Tak igen for at give mig denne mulighed, Mette! I have had the pleasure to stand on many stages. But this felt like a milestone, an international breakthrough (watch out America, you are next!). I stood on the largest stage ever. 😮 Was I nervous? Yes! And no! I worked towards this moment for a long time. When you direct your attention towards a certain goal, things will line up for you. So whatever you are pursuing, keep on going! Even when the path doesn't seem clear all the time. The path is made by taking it. As for the lessons, I share a couple of screenshots from live polls from my presentation. The numbers have no statistical significance, but they do say something. > Only a minority feels like they already received AI-generated newsletters. Most attendees were not sure if they already did or think they did not. 🤔 > At the beginning of my presentation, 22% thought using AI to create create newsletters might be too ambitious. > At the end, after my presentation, 60% said they will work on this (for sure) and another 39% would give it a try. Looks like a good “conversion rate”. > Adoption of AI “personalities” is still low. 28% never heard of “personalities” or “custom instructions” before my presentation. 24% knew them already, but never used them. 18% use them and love them. > The majority was able to identify text generated with an AI “personality”. So it seems to make a positive difference. As for the other pictures in this post, they speak for themselves. No words needed. Just click through them. You will see Mette, Nancy Harhut, Jeanne Jennings 📧, Michael Barber and many others (except for Jay, who also plays many roles in all of this). I hope they make you smile as they made me. Done? Nope! I have to resolve the “cliffhanger”! 😉 What is my idea? The world needs better emails. (Germany in particular.) And Germany could use a great conference on email marketing. I think “Rock your email” is the perfect vehicle for this. As you can imagine: if I organize an email conference, it will be VERY different and definitely NOT be boring. What do you think about this idea? As always, #rockyouremail | 27 comments on LinkedIn
